In 1985 the Fowler Brothers along with Mike Miller, Albert Wing, Chester Thompson and engineer Dennis Moody began recording music that would eventually document the sound and style of The Fowler Brothers Band. Although there was no clear plan as to what they intended to do with the completed recording the band went into Paramount Studio and emerged with the album, "Hunter". Hunter became the first record to be released by Fossil Records, sometime in 1987. Astonishingly, by merely sending the album to a few jazz radio stations and with almost no follow-up, Hunter became a hit in the major markets of Detroit, Philadelphia and Los Angeles. Encouraged by their success and determined to secure reliable distribution before the release of any subsequent recordings, the Fowler Brothers began "Breakfast for Dinosaurs" and studied record promotion and distribution. Today there are nine releases on Fossil Records.
